I’ve been a lifelong gamer. Whether it be on the PC or a console, I’ve always had a morbid interest in video games. The first console I owned was an Atari 2600 that was licensed by Sears, and from there I moved up to a Vic 20 and eventually to a full fledged computer, the IBM PCjr (sorry Mr. Vic). Along the way I went from the simple enjoyment of gaming on an electronic device, to collector, and back to a more modest level of acquisition. But I’ve always been a pack rat, and it’s tough to shake that habit. The result is a garage filled with games, many of which I never played or even opened.

So, rather than simply sell these treasures off or dispose of them in a landfill, I figured it might be fun to dig them out, take a snap or two of the boxes and contents thereof for some of my favorites, and share them with you. I won’t get your hopes up and present you with tips and tricks for completing the game or detailed walkthroughs; instead, this will be a more personal journey, letting you in on my impressions of the game, how I obtained it, and anything else that comes to mind. Hopefully, this will resonate with you, my fellow gamers, and encourage you to share your experiences with the games here. It’s always more enjoyable to share your triumphs and frustrations than to keep them inside, so let’s see where this all leads and perhaps how we can create a history of our past experiences that goes beyond an entry in Wikipedia.
